Elizabeth (“Beth”) Conklyn is a native of Berkeley County, West Virginia and a graduate of West Virginia University. After graduation she worked for a number of social services agencies – including the Senior Center and what was then known as the Department of Welfare. Continuing in her desire to be an effective advocate she obtained a Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland and after graduate school obtained a certificate as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker – although she did not maintain that license, she uses the skills she obtained and the experience of being a clinical director of a Mental Health Center in Pennsylvania in her current work with children and families.
Ms. Conklyn went on to obtain her law degree from the University of Baltimore, graduating magna cum laude in 1987. Since law school she has argued before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and been counsel on a number of cases argued before the Maryland Court of Special Appeals and the Maryland Court of Appeals. For many years she assisted people in the free law clinic in the Frederick County Court House. She has spent her career here in Frederick working to help people with the issues of divorce, custody and support.
Conklyn & Associates is very pleased that a rescue dog, Waldo, joined the firm in 2014. Waldo is always available to provide comfort and affection and he is especially child friendly. Waldo loves all people and is especially sensitive to humans going through stressful times.
